Calculator statistics
Let’s have a look at something we built ourselves as a Sports data provider. The Sportmonks widgets are created via our Sports API. Our livescore widget is on the right. You can see all of today’s matches in our coverage. It is important to note that if you have a widget specifically for the Premier League, you will only see the matches for the Premier League. In this case, we see all matches that are available in Sportmonks’ 2,200+ league coverage.
You can see the matches, but please feel free to click through the widget to find out how it works. If you click on the details button of a match that is in play or has been finished, you will be able to find a statistics tab. There, you can find the Match statistics for the specific matchup. For example, you will find statistics such as ball possession, shots, passes, cards, corners, fouls, offsides, saves and more.
There are widgets solely focused on statistics. For example, one of our widgets shows all teams of a specific league ranked on the statistics instead of the real standings (based on points). For example, last season, Manchester City topped the Premier League for having the most attacks, while Sheffield United was on top for the most goals conceded (that is a questionable honour, of course). Most tackles were made by Crystal Palace, and most passes were launched by, you might have already guessed it, Manchester City. There is way more in our Sports API, but these are some examples which are included in our sports coverage.
With the current season just underway, we are looking forward to seeing how the statistics will change during the season and are captivated by what you come up with. One thing to keep in mind: our widgets can be used on websites, mobile apps, or anything you have in mind. In doubt? Contact support to find out if the widgets are the right thing for you. Do you prefer to build something yourself? No worries. We showed the widget to give everyone an idea of what can be achieved with the data from our Sports APIs. If you want to create something similar (or completely different), you can do that by using our API!
Football statistics
So, there is way more available in our Football API than the statistics we mentioned above. For the current season, over 70 new statistics will be added to our API. All of the statistics are available as real-time data, which means that once it happens during a fixture, it will be visible in our API in no time. So, whether you are building a fantasy league or a live-score match centre, it is all possible. For both, real-time access to statistics is very important. Therefore, we are proud to tell you that we are faster than live broadcasting for most sports events.
Your users are most likely sports fans, so statistics are very important to them. Why? Sportmonks offers a complete list of stats (which you can find here) with Expected Goals metrics and, for example, the Pressure index. A game is more than just a game; it is a story that entertains sports fans. Your application/website is probably designed to engage fans in their favourite sports even more.

Expected Goals statistics
I am a real fan of football statistics. I always check the statistics of my favourite team(s) to have good arguments in discussions about football with friends or pros. I pick my fantasy teams for the Fantasy League based on all the statistics I can find. It is almost like the movie Moneyball.
We have already mentioned the expected goals (xG). This is, and has been for a while now, the most desired statistic for scouts, coaches, and the players themselves. But most importantly, it is one of the most important and popular statistics among the fans—your app users. Because our clients kept asking for xG, we decided to add it to our statistics. xG metrics are now available as an add-on. This immense popular statistic is a must-have in your arsenal. Please visit our comprehensive documentation about xG and how to use it effectively.
Player statistics
Another level of statistics is ‘player statistics’. Player statistics play a vital role in the world of football data. Not only are these statistics used for scouting, in which they can be a deciding factor (let’s say a tie-breaker?), but they are also really popular for news sites and football analytics to use and analyse a match. Last but not least, fans are craving for player statistics. Think about the never-ending discussion about who the greatest football player of all time is. Player statistics have been brought up many times to praise a player!
The standard and advanced versions of our plans (European, Worldwide, and Enterprise plans) grant access to player statistics.
More information on how to use the player statistics can be found in our API documentation.
Cricket statistics
Cricket statistics are vital to websites and applications hosting fantasy games, among other use cases. Sportmonks offers all kinds of statistics, like runs, wickets, and overs. There is way more where this is coming from. Please visit our technical documentation to find out how to use the Cricket API and all it beholds.
Bhoos Gaming is one of our customers who is using our Cricket API for their Cricket Fantasy League. Keep in mind that all customers decide for themselves how they integrate the API into their systems. There are many use cases, from statistics websites to fantasy games to live score pages and Fantasy Leagues.
Formula 1
For Formula 1, we offer livescores, season information, track information, stages, team information, driver information and winners. Of course, among the data, there are the drive standings, which show exactly which racers and teams are performing best, and you can find the Formula One statistics of the drivers there.
Talking about the best, Red Bull Racing and McLaren are running the show at the moment. Well, that might not be due to the fact that they use our data, but they do! So, if you are in doubt about where to find reliable sports data, maybe this fact will help you decide.
For all information on Formula 1, please refer to the technical documentation.

However, you might be thinking that sports data integration sounds complicated or wondering about the accuracy and reliability of API-sourced data. These are valid concerns. But with Sportmonks, you can trust that you’re getting precise, up-to-date information from a service designed to make integration as smooth as possible. This API is built to be developer-friendly, so even if you’re worried about the technical expertise required, rest assured that it’s designed with ease of use in mind.
We understand the frustrations that come with traditional methods of gathering sports data—slow processes, manual analysis prone to errors, and the constant challenge of keeping up with the fast-paced sports world. Sportmonks is here to solve those problems, offering you a way to automate and enhance your data collection, making your work not only easier but also more reliable.
You may also fear the potential risks of relying on an API: what if the data is incorrect or outdated? What if integrating an API makes your business too dependent on a third-party service? With Sportmonks, these fears are addressed through rigorous data accuracy checks and reliable service, ensuring you have the most trustworthy data at your fingertips.
Finally, let’s tackle some common assumptions. You might think that manual data collection is more reliable or customisable or that a sports statistics API might not cover all the sports and leagues you’re interested in. In reality, Sportmonks offers extensive coverage across numerous sports and leagues, delivering a customisable, reliable, and robust solution that exceeds the capabilities of manual data collection.
Sportmonks’ Sports Statistics API is not just a tool—it’s a powerful ally in building the future of sports applications. It offers the reliability, ease of integration, and comprehensive coverage that developers and business owners need to succeed.
