The Gunners have won the league title 13 times and have a record 14 FA Cups, 17 FA Community Shields, two EFL Cups, and one UEFA Europa League. The club had its most tremendous success when Arsène Wenger was appointed. He is the longest-serving manager and has won the most trophies. In the 2003–04 season, Arsenal won the league without losing a single game, which makes them the Invincibles. Arsenal plays their home games in the Emirates Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,704. The longest and most profound rivalry they have is with their near neighbours, Tottenham Hotspur. This rivalry is also known as the North London derby. That said, fixtures against Manchester United, Liverpool, and London rivals Chelsea also command high interest. Meanwhile, the UEFA Champions League title continues to elude Arsenal. Although they reached the final in 2005–06, they lost to Barcelona 2-1, despite initially taking the lead.
Also known as City, it was founded in 1880. The Citizens are currently four consecutive Premier League champions. The club reached their prime after the financial takeover by Sheikh Mansour, with players like Sergio Agüero joining the side in what was the beginning of their ascension to Premier League glory. Agüero scored the winner in the final seconds on the last day of the 2011–12 season, which helped City win their first League title in 44 years. Under the management of Pep Guardiola, City won the Premier League in 2018, becoming the only Premier League team to reach more than 100 points in a single season. In total, they have won 10 domestic league titles, 7 FA Cups, 8 EFL Cups, and 1 UEFA Champions League title. Manchester City play their home matches at the Etihad Stadium, which has a capacity of 53,400 supporters.
Liverpool was founded in 1872 and has played its home games at Anfield since its formation. Liverpool FC is one of the world’s most successful football clubs, with 51 major men’s honours. The Reds have won 19 domestic league titles, 8 FA Cups, 6 European Cup/UEFA Champions League titles, 4 UEFA Super Cups, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. Liverpool’s biggest rivalry is with Everton, a fellow Liverpool team, while the other is Manchester United. This rivalry stems from the cities’ competition during the Industrial Revolution.
Also known as the Red Devils, it was founded in 1878. The club has won a record of 20 League titles and 13 FA Cups, with the most recent picked up in the 2023/24 season, six League Cups, and 21 FA Community Shields, having lost the most recent (2024) to Manchester City via penalties. The Red Devils have won the UEFA Champions League three times and the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup once each. The club had its most tremendous success with Sir Alex Ferguson as manager. He is the club’s longest-serving and most successful manager, winning 38 trophies, including 13 league titles, 5 FA Cups, and 2 UEFA Champions League titles between 1986 and 2013. Wayne Rooney is United’s all-time top scorer, with 253 goals in 559 matches.
Commonly known as Brighton, was founded in 1901. Brighton plays their home games at the Falmer Stadium, which has a capacity of 31,800 people. In the 2016–17 season, the club finished second in the EFL Championship and was promoted to the Premier League, ending a 34-year absence from England’s top flight.
Everton was founded in 1878. The club has won nine league titles and five FA Cups. Everton’s biggest rivalry is with Liverpool. This rivalry is also known as the Merseyside Derby. The club plays their home games at Goodison Park, which has a capacity of 39,572 fans. Everton has been based at Goodison Park since 1892 but will be playing their final season at the stadium this term.
West Ham was founded in 1895. The Hammers’ home ground is the London Stadium, which has a capacity of 37,800 fans. West Ham have won the FA Cup three times.
Chelsea was founded in 1908. The club plays their home matches at Stamford Bridge, which has a capacity of 40,341. Domestically, the club has won six league titles, eight FA Cups, five League Cups, and four FA Community Shields. Internationally, they have won the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, the UEFA Super Cup twice each, and one FIFA Club World Cup.

Palace was founded in 1905. The Eagles have played their home games at Selhurst Park, which has a capacity of 25,486. Due to their location in London, Crystal Palace is involved in several local derbies, mostly across south London. Crystal Palace has another long-standing rivalry with Brighton & Hove Albion. This rivalry started in the first round of the 1976–77 FA Cup. The tie went to two replays, but the second replay ended in controversy after the referee disallowed a goal from Brighton. Palace won the tie 1-0.
Nottingham was founded in 1865 and has played its home games at the City Ground. They scrapped through the relegation dogfight and finished in 17th place last season (2023/24). Nottingham Forest has won two European Cups, one UEFA Super Cup, one League title, two FA Cups, and four League Cups. Forest is one of four English clubs that have won the UEFA Champions League more than once. The club was relegated in 1999 and returned in 2022 by winning the play-off final. Forest’s biggest rivalry is with Derby County. This rivalry is also known as the East Midlands Derby.
Newcastle was founded in 1892. The club plays its home games at St. James’ Park, which has a capacity of 52,305 fans. Newcastle has won four league titles and six FA Cups. It has a long-standing rivalry with Sunderland. Newcastle recently became contenders for a top-four finish following a big-money acquisition by the Saudi-owned Public Investment Fund.
Brentford was founded in 1889. The Bees’ home ground is the Gtech Community Stadium, which has a capacity of 17,250 fans. Their main rivalry is with Fulham, a fellow London-based football club.
Bournemouth was founded in 1899 and has played its home games at Dean Court since 1910. The club remained in the Premier League for five seasons before relegation in 2020 but returned in 2022 as Championship runners-up.
Aston Villa was founded in 1874. They are one of the five English clubs to have won the European Cup. They have also won the League seven times, the FA Cup seven times, the League Cup five times, and the European Super Cup once. Villa plays its home games at Villa Park, which has a capacity of 42,749 fans. A fourth-place finish last season (2023–24) helped them qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Wolves was founded in 1877. The Wolves’ home ground is Molineux Park, which has a capacity of 32,050. Wolverhampton has been competing in the Premier League since winning promotion in 2018.
Fulham was founded in 1879. Its main rivalries are with fellow West London clubs Chelsea, Queens Park Rangers, and Brentford. Fulham plays its home games at Craven Cotton, which has a capacity of 25,700.
Luton was founded in 1885. The club was promoted to the Premier League for the first time in 2022/2023 but suffered an immediate return to the Championship after the 2023/24 season after an 18th-place finish, despite a fine start to their injury-blighted season.
Burnley was founded in 1882 and plays its home games at Turf Moor, which has a stadium capacity of 21,944. The club were champions in 1921 and 1960 but suffered relegation to the Championship at the end of the 2023–2024 season after a 19th-place finish.
Sheffield was founded in 1989. The club plays at Bramall Lane, which has a capacity of 32,050. Sheffield became champions on the highest English level in 1897/1898 but suffered relegation at the end of the 2023/24 season after a torrid run in the top tier, finishing bottom of the table.
Leicester Football Club was founded in 1884 and played its home games at the King Power Stadium. In the 2015-16 season, Jamie Vardy scored 13 goals in 11 consecutive matches, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring ten consecutive games. The Foxes won the league that season, their first and only top-level title. They were relegated at the end of the 2022–23 season but returned after a year as EFL Championship Champions. Vardy scored 18 goals to help his side return to the Premier League.
Founded in 1878, the Tractor Boys made their return to the Premier League for the 2024–25 season after a 22-year absence. They will be playing their home games at Portman Road, which has a capacity of 30,000.
Founded in 1885, the Saints will return to the Premier League after a one-year absence. They were promoted via playoffs after finishing in fourth place in the Championship. They will play their home games at St. Mary’s Stadium.
